Please find your sport in the menu on the right side of this page and read the message below from Mr. Hughes.

Hello Fremont Families listed below is our current schedule for Fall sports. Please know that things are very fluid and may still be moved, changed, rescheduled at the last minute due to numerous factors. Some factors we are battling will be bus shortages for all in the SOMSAC, quarantined players (moving games latter in the week so we do not have to cancel), and air quality levels for outdoor sports. Nonetheless, we are excited and heading in the right directions. Mark your calendars with a pencil.

Effective immediately, both Fremont and Jo Lane will now be participating in the SOMSAC League (Southern Oregon Middle School Athletic Conference) for all sports.  Beginning this fall, our volleyball, football, and cross country teams will be competing in this new league. Moving into this league has been an ongoing goal for many years in the Roseburg School District. Our athletic directors have been continually working on this and are in full support of the transition.

There are many benefits to this change. This league will allow Fremont and Jo Lane to play teams and schools that are similar in size to our middle schools. They also have a strategic plan in place for optimally developing athletes’ skills by grouping players with others who have similar skill sets. This allows coaches to have the opportunity to create practice plans specific to the needs of their team and game schedules will be created with skill sets of teams in mind.

Sixth grade students will still participate through our school programs in cross country, wrestling and track. All football, volleyball and basketball for grade six athletes will continue through outside agencies such as Roseburg Youth Football and the Boys and Girls Club.
